Amir Greiss brings over 22 years of international experience in architecture and management to his position as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SharpMinds Consulting Engineers.
Throughout his extensive career, Amir has gained diverse expertise across various architecture, engineering, and project management and planning fields, engaging extensively with multinational firms. He has played a pivotal role in numerous architectural projects, working with esteemed architects and firms to bring collaborative visions to life.
His proficiency also extends to healthcare sectors, focusing on the individual impact of each project and how to create spaces that sustain and positively affect communities and societies. By focusing on sustainable and inclusive design principles, Greiss ensures that his architectural endeavors contribute positively to the well-being and development of the communities they serve, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.
Greiss's skills in interacting with clients and understanding their needs has helped in developing successful processes, resulting in the delivery of innovative yet practical architecture and design solutions.

Emirates International Hospital, Al Ain
In association with MCF Architecture, the new extension to Emirates International Hospital will set the facility to become a leading healthcare provider in the region with an additional 160+ beds, 5 operating theatres, trauma centre, medical laboratory, radiology suite, endoscopy unit, inpatient and outpatient pharmacy, ICU, NICU/PICU, and extensive outpatient department with a patient-centered design. The project spans 42,000 sqm and is valued at 300 million AED.
SKMC Dialysis Centre
The New Renal Dialysis Centre building for the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) was completed in 2016 with Amir as Head of Architecture. The project is a modern B+G+1 facility spanning 10,550 sqm and featuring 60 dialysis stations, VIP and pediatric rooms, isolation units with negative pressure, separate diagnostic areas for male & female, and a glass curtain wall façade with louvers and terra-cotta cladding. It is valued at 112 million AED.
New England Center for Children
Spanning 10,987sqm, the New England Center for Children & Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Special Education (MRC-NECC) consists of a 5-story educational facility that includes learning areas, administration, nursing, group dining and physical education. Additionally, the building includes 3 levels of UG parking while the campus also includes a separate residential unit adjacent to the educational facility. It was completed in 2012 and valued at 170 million AED.
Ghayathi Community Hospital
The new hospital for Ghayathi was planned as a 50-bed hospital to provide multi-disciplinary healthcare services to the western region population and was completed in 2015 with Amir as Project Director. The project included multiple support buildings for staff accommodation, dedicated mosque, separate mortuary, and landscape and hardscape design and planning for staff and visitors. It spans 44,000 sqm and is valued at 465 million AED.
Disease Prevention & Screening Center
The Disease Prevention and Screening Center (DPSC) facility, operated by SEHA, was designed in 2013 to be a G+2 structure with underground parking. The project spanned 20,701 sqm and was valued at 245 million AED. The building, principally was a medical visa screening facility to replace an existing facility which presently operates at a location adjacent to the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City on the Abu Dhabi city island.
Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center GMP Lab
The team, along with IKM associates, collaborated on a state-of-the-art research laboratory facility focused on stem cell and gene therapy research to accommodate multiplate principal investigators. The design was completed in 2022 and spanned 80,000 sqm and is valued at 900 million AED. The center includes BSL-2 laboratories, GMP-compliant cell processing spaces, and collaborative office environments. Designed to meet ISO standards, it features shared core labs and an animal research facility to support scientific exploration and innovation.
Amir Greiss graduated from Ain Shams University in Egypt, earning his degree in Architecture, Planning, and Engineering in 2002. Additionally, he is certified by the American Institute of Architects.
He received several certificates of appreciation from SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company) from 2014 - 2016 for his specific contributions to several government projects.
