Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have an extensive experience in designing mechanical systems using Autodesk Revit and other related software. They will be responsible for coordinating closely with our BIM team to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with other disciplines. This role requires a proactive professional who can handle complex projects, collaborate effectively, and drive design excellence in our engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
- Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) using Autodesk Revit, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Develop detailed Revit models for mechanical systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with other disciplines, such as architecture, electrical, and structural teams, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of mechanical designs.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings, conduct clash detection, and provide solutions to design conflicts to achieve coordinated models.
- Prepare mechanical design drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules for submission and construction.
- Assist in project planning, timelines, and resource management, contributing to the overall project delivery.
- Review and validate mechanical designs for accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and schedules, ensuring clarity and completeness for construction purposes.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts, technical issues, and constructability challenges in collaboration with the BIM and design teams.
- Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions, contributing to environmentally responsible projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with significant experience for healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, and/or institutional design sectors projects in the UAE or GCC region.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for mechanical design. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of UAE building codes, mechanical systems, design standards, and sustainable practices.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., PMP, LEED, or Chartered Engineer) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex designs clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong collaborative skills, with a proactive approach to working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
